Donovan Miller
Drummer/Percussionist/Composer/Arranger

About the Artist
Donovan Miller was born and raised in Woodbury, Minnesota to Denise Warren and Devin Miller. He started playing drums at the age of 3 in his church. He watched his older brother, Dorian Miller, play and decided that he wanted to follow in his footsteps and play drums as well. So he asked his father to teach him the basics and asked his god-brother, Kenyari Jackson, to teach him after he got all of the information that his father could give him. He started going to school to build his knowledge of music and once he graduated from high school, he went on to the University of Kansas where he graduated in 2021 with his degree in Jazz Studies and a certificate in Music Enterprise. During his time in college, he has had the opportunity to perform with countless artists including Gerald Clayton, Kneebody, and Jeff Coffin. He has also been able to tour overseas with the KU Jazz Ensemble I and has been able to perform in multiple jazz festivals including the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland, the Vienne Jazz Festival in France, and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. In February of 2019, a video of him playing for the KU Basketball band went viral and was featured on ESPN and Bleacher Report hitting over one million views on the video. He is currently the drummer and one of the songwriters for Glass Bandit, a rock, funk, and soul fusion band based out of Kansas City, MO.
